Absolutely spot on...for the most part. I will always wonder what could have happened if we had kept our eye on the Afghan ball in 2003 rather than abandoning the effort for our Iraq disaster. Quite possible the outcome would have been the same but given that Bush and the Neo-Cons refused to undertake any form of "nation building" we never really gave the Afghan people an alternative to the Taliban.
