Answering to the header above (Medium won't allow), when you care for a demented person you often become responsible for health care interactions and often encounter "professionals" who just never got the memo. This is awkward and potentially hurtful, particularly if the demented person is aware either that they can't answer the personal questions, that you are fielding them all, or that the questions are being directed at you, not them. I never came up with a clever way to deal with this... possibly could have had pre-conversations but inevitably they came into the room one after the other, often interns or not familiar with dementia patient care...was a constant annoyance.
