As far as personal accusations (racist, homophobe, communist) I totally agree. You should be able to make an argument without ad hominem distractions. As to strawman, well, that can be more complicated and subtle, and I would much rather point those out and debunk them myself rather than ceding that function to an anonymous moderator;)
