As Trump made crystal clear in his Florida speech, he is not and does not consider himself to be “our president”. It would be bad enough if as a private citizen he called democrats “radical traitors who want to destroy the country”, as a president it’s unforgivable, and not just because it’s a foul lie. Unless and until Trump can acknowledge that democrats love our country, want the best for it, and simply disagree with him on the way to improve it he is president solely for his political base.
