At 69 I've been single most of my life. There are times I look at couples and feel that pain, but then living with someone who isn't right for you is painful as well, a more 24/7 kind of pain. I cared for my elderly dad (99) in my home for about 5 years, moved him into assisted living a year ago last October. Now when I wake up in the morning I see nothing but glorious freedom ahead in the day. It DOES help to have Bo the black lab for company;)
