Bitcoin obviously consumes energy. Not sure how it either forces or even encourages solar adoption. We have ACTUAL energy needs, from transport and manufacture to agriculture to structure heating, cooling and lighting. Every erg of energy that goes to supporting an inefficient system of value exchange is an erg that can't be used for more basic needs. You seem to be saying that BTC increases demand for power, but the demand side of the power equation is ALREADY too large, creating excess generation to meet that demand, and that excess generation is likely to come from existing generation systems, ,may actually cause them to stay in operation.
