Click bait title, inaccurate premise. Nobody claims that IF is in any way magical. There are claims, often backed by studies, that IF improves insulin sensitivity, blood lipids, blood pressure, the big three in the chronic metabolic syndrome that runs epidemic in the U.S. population. Anecdotally IF does make weight loss easier, if weight loss is your goal.
For me, at 68, it was an easy way to lose 10% of my body weight, including a couple of inches around my waist, fat that supposedly is associated w heart disease/diabetes/stroke risk. My cholesterol dropped about 40%, triglycerides which were high normal dropped to low normal, blood pressure down 20 points, all with little effort or thought and NO feeling of deprivation. It did take me a year.
