Doesn't matter what you and your wife did, nor did I mention Bernie Sanders Democrats. I'm pretty sure, given the debacle that was trump, that everyone who can plausibly claim they voted for Clinton now makes that claim. Possibly the blame lies with Midwestern urban black voters who bought into the Hillary as racist claims arising from her comments in the 90's. Possibly the blame lies with blue collar traditional Dems that bought the fiction that trump saw them, cared about them. Possibly the blame is evenly spread among all the various wings of the Democratic party. The fact remains, a few tens of thousands of votes were all that were needed to protect Roe, the Voting Rights Act, the ability of the federal government to regulate carbon emissions, the traditional reading of the 2nd Amendment which includes the first clause of that amendment, campaign finance laws, marriage equality, birth control, the ability of progressive states to allow abortion and other forms of reproductive health care at all.
It's hard to foresee what this court will attack next and they will probably sit for decades, all because progressives and Democrats failed to turn out in '16. BTW, while its possible that some blue collar grievance voters would have switched to Sanders it's also likely that other voters would have switched the other way or just stayed home. An incredibly moot point, given that Sanders never came close to winning the nomination, an outcome that is a feature of the big tent nature of the party.
