Doubtful. As a carpenter I have been an early adopter of battery powered tools. They only appeared in any meaningful form a couple of decades ago, using nicad batteries, and while they served a purpose being cut loose from the cord, batteries were heavy. wore out quickly, and held a frustratingly low charge. Lithium ion batteries were a huge upgrade, getting better all the time, and will take over for many corded tools, but the real impressive improvement is in the last ten years. No Big Oil standing in the way of this relatively low investment development of highly marketable products, pretty much the same time line as EVs.
