Doubtful that charity, forgiveness, love, empathy, happiness, or moral codes are necessarily the products of religious beliefs. All exist in non-religious people, sometimes more strongly than in the religious. I have never known an agnostic or atheist to shun a child for failing to match their parent's beliefs, for marrying outside the group, for stating the truth that their sexuality or gender identification is not hetero. I have known religious people to do all of these.
