Early training can be key to raising a great companion. If you observe her carefully you can often determine when she “needs to go outside”. When she does her business in the right place then she gets lots of praise and maybe a treat, she will quickly learn. I taught both Max (the chocolate) and
Bo (under Max’s ear) to shake off when wet by watching them when they got out of the water and telling them “shake” in a happy, encouraging voice when they were about to shake off. Of course both were lawyer types, wouldn’t do it if they didn’t feel wet enough;) Taught both to step back over the leash on the command “uh oh” by same process, observation and reinforcement. Good luck and enjoy!
