Here's a little secret. All generations feel poorly done by their parents. For us it was a huge and deadly war that made Afghanistan and Iraq look tame, discrimination that denied women professional jobs even if they graduated top students at prestige schools (Ruth Bader Ginsberg) a world on a nuclear hair trigger that came within minutes of going off more than once, rivers that caught on fire, endemic racism that denied black people jobs, housing, degrees, political power, virulent hatred and persecution of LBGTQ people who revealed their identities (let alone pronouns) at risk to their lives.
