I don't in any way think that the science on global warming, or the intelligent responses to it are panic. By the late '60s we were deeply concerned about the "end of oil". Even as few as ten years ago I had an old friend stop by to visit who told me he had again sold out and moved to the country to avoid the inevitable societal crash that would follow the imminent end of oil.

You are right, predicting the future is difficult. I was convinced by the early seventies that we would see revolution or apocalypse by 1984. missed that one by some number of decades.

Panic action is mostly useless and often harmful. Planning for likely futures just makes sense. Your son is right, there is something "wrong" with Greta, she is on the autism spectrum and has difficulty with affect and emotional balance.

I'm not ok with just ignoring the best science, and as a medical doctor I'm pretty sure you aren't either.
