I just watched a PBS show American Masters on Oliver Sacks, who wrote The Man Who Thought His Wife Was a Hat, and Awakenings, among other great books. He did amazing research and had to hide his sexuality (he was gay) for many decades. Had he been "exposed" as gay he would not only have lost employment but also might have faced chemical castration and prison. Those Texas creeps are fighting the tide of history and will lose, our country leads in the fight for human rights, human dignity, though obviously the fight isn't over.
