I never thought that a candidate for president, let alone a president, would refuse to concede a clearly lost election. I certainly never thought that a president would conduct a disinformation campaign from the Oval to undermine the entire election process. This is a perilous path. In '20 the guardrails held, but only because Republicans of conscience and patriotism refused to bend to the attempts by their president to overturn the election results. He is now conducting a campaign to oust them, and his servants in state legislatures are now removing the power of independent attorneys general to count the votes and moving that power to partisan state legislatures.

The strength of our system is NOT that the voters make wise decisions, it's that we regularly and peacefully turn over the levers of power, or at least did so until now. That strength is under assault and its entirely possible that partisan actors will be "counting" votes rather than the traditional non partisan or independent election officers. If you don't like the parties using their power to bend election results in their favor this is your issue.
