I see agriculture as the "fall of man", in the biblical sense. Before Ag it was impossible to do much hoarding, egalitarian social systems were often the only practical way, consensus decision making was stronger in terms of thriving than hierarchical power structures. The ability to store/hoard wealth changed all that, and not necessarily for the better;)
