I would consume smoothies with caution. The normal chewing process starts the digestive process and is totally skipped when you drink your foods, not to mention that blending breaks down cell walls and accelerates the release of the sugars, defeating some of the benefits of the fibers in fruits, which slow sugar uptake and help regulate insulin spikes and crashes.
