I’m a sometime watercolor artist and sculptor, have stacks of bad paintings and many I really like. Have a show up now, can’t tell you how many people told me at the opening, “I’d like to do art but I have no talent”. Well, my drawing talent is limited, my eraser is my most important drawing tool, but I have a good eye, and that life long desire to produce art… too often we’ve let ourselves believe that art is done by artists, music by musicians, that our own pitiful efforts are unworthy. As you say, talent is developed, and we can all be creative if creativity is our goal.
