I'm hoping people will read this with more than a literal mind set. Many in the country still dismiss the Black Lives Matter movement as a Marxist plot, or maintain that they are personally color blind and not "part of the problem", or deny the existence of institutional racism, or white privilege. I was writing from my own perspective to debunk these states of denial, perhaps to open some eyes in people who cherish justice.
