In my experience, driving my plug hybrid Volt is much cheaper than a gas car during our cold Utah winters. In part this is connected to the fact that I generate power on my rooftop solar array, but my TOTAL cost for all home electric current and car charging is around $25 a month from Nov. thru March and free for the other months.
