Like the president, you apparently have no idea what his job is, what responsibilities are uniquely his. It’s quite literally irrelevant whether he gets praised or slammed. His job is not to get re-elected. His job is to take care that the laws are faithfully executed and to serve as the chief executive of the nation. In the larger sense his job is to take action to insure the security of the nation and its citizens. The only rewards he deserves for doing his job are his salary and benefits and that inner sense of satisfaction that comes from doing a job well. Given that he has little experience with working, with job responsibilities and personal accountability, it’s understandable though not forgivable that he feels he needs adulation and praise for doing his job. The lowest employee at McDonald’s understands that the boss doesn’t need to praise him for sweeping the kitchen floor. The president has less understanding of work than does this floor sweeper.
