Mostly not the way that science works, though culture does always color the way people ask questions and the hypotheses they test to answer them.

Creation stories and oral traditions abound among all cultures, mostly they don't find support in actual evidence.

DNA analysis reveals much about ancestry, as does paleontology. As far as I know, no pre-sapiens hominem fossils have ever been found in the western hemisphere, though they have been found throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Indonesia. This does not prove that pre-sapiens hominem were not here, but so far all evidence supports migration of modern humans to the western hemisphere in the last 40,000 years.

I would be interested to see evidence of the presence of humans earlier, or from other migration routes. I doubt that humans evolved independently on the western hemisphere, but who knows? Our ignorance is far wider in many subjects than our knowledge.
