My main gripe with your piece Doctor is that it doesn't appear that you have tried to answer your own question, "does fasting improve your health". Weight loss studies on obese people do not reveal much about that question and I believe that there is a fairly large selection of studies examining whether IF does improve blood chemistry, chronic metabolic syndrome, pre and type 2 diabetes, blood pressure in "normal" populations...those who are not already obese. The anecdotal accounts like mine are legion and I'm pretty certain that legitimate studies are there to be examined. I'm sure you've heard of Dr. Jason Fung, it might be helpful to examine his work, if only to refute it;)
