No, your beauty primarily benefits you. The only real benefit that your beauty provides a man is if that man is dating you, in a relationship with you, or married to you. We pair up according to the attractiveness “capital” that we display, usually matching our “values” pretty closely, with youth and beauty as the woman’s measure and height, wealth and status the man’s. As Kelly Silver points out below, beauty does translate to better treatment for a woman, just as height, money and status does for a man. We don’t have to be ruled by these social conventions but they exist and have a powerful effect.
