Nope, just an old hippie carpenter who loves science. Congrats on getting paid, I think I’m up to about $175 all told;) Still, I would write for free, do write for free, scratch an old carpenter and find a frustrated artist or writer. I really think we need to start taking the long view. which is why I write about leveraging our biological resources as often as I can. Doing so at all is a short term risk, and ultimately unsustainable. When we use that whole tool kit, when we artificially expand our range, our population usually rises to utilize the temporarily expanded resources in our temporarily expanded range. Somebody has to lose, either the wild populations we displace or eventually ourselves as some part of the leveraged system fails. I’m very materialist about this; there are plenty of homo sapiens, we are not in immediate danger of extinction. We are merely wiping out the accumulated genetic knowledge of millions of unique species constructed over hundreds of millions of years, none of which knowledge can we replace or reconstruct once it’s gone. I’d rather take the medicine now.
