Not justifying any kind of hatred, explaining why some forms are rational and some are not. There has never been equality in this country nor has there been or is there now the state of color blindness, no matter how much some of us wish that this was the case. You may be able to look all people in the eye with no hint of prejudice or fear, if so you are one of very few. Calls for or claims of color blindness now usually arise out of naivete, denial, or in some instances malignant intent. We are not a color blind society, never have been, and we suffer more and are at more risk depending on our color. Denial of this reality is one certain way to guarantee its persistence.
