Oddly enough, some of this sounds like a standard gripe that women have about opening up to their male partners; they want to talk something out or vent and their man wants to fix something, offer advice, not just listen and sympathize. I've certainly had women do this when I was venting and I think it's a natural habit in both sexes, fixing, protecting, defending instead of trusting and listening. Good luck with the guy...we older men have a lot to offer in the love and lovemaking areas;)
