One of the obvious arguments against the existence of an intelligent creator is the unfathomable cruelty of the natural world. To intentionally create such cruelty would require an unfathomably sadistic mind. One of the uplifting miracles of the process of evolution is the creation in human minds of the perception of cruelty, kindness, altruism, fairness, which are universal across cultures. It’s on us to respond to “the better angels of our nature” and use these miraculous concepts to heal the damage we are doing to our world and ourselves.
