Russia does not CURRENTLY occupy Georgia, it has both invaded and occupied Georgia in the past, one reason Georgis declared independence and statehood when the USSR disintegrated. From what I have read, Russia invaded again in Aug. of '08 with tanks and heavy weapons, bombed civilian cities from the ground and air during that short war, ethnically cleansed Georgians from the invaded areas...pretty much the same excuses and the same objectives as other putin invasions.
