Sheer insanity. NATO has never posed a threat of any kind to Russia...there is ZERO appetite in the EU or the U.S. for an invasion of Russia and far less than a zero appetite for a nuclear confrontation. Were putin not securely ensconced behind his nuclear wall NATO would simply crush the invading Russian army in Ukraine and be done with it.
