So, as a carpenter, a couple of thoughts.

First, my measuring tape is 1 1/4" wide (to allow it to extend 8' without drooping) and steel, not likely to wrap around any smaller radius than 2 feet, so thanks for the toilet paper roll trick. And second, as a master tradesman I have to remind the guys of the old truth...a poor craftsman blames his tools;)
