The 6000 BTU’s bought by that ’19 dollar is 1/7 of the 42,000 BTU’s bought by the ’72 dollar, the $11,120 is roughly 1/6 of the $60,000. One would expect some increase in energy costs given how much of the easily drilled or dug fossil fuel has been depleted, how much more environmental regulation for both producing and burning the fossil fuels exists today.
