Some people are unethical much of the time, some people are scrupulously ethical. Many people don't see using plastics or driving cars as unethical. Ethics are not so concrete and fixed that your sense of ethics is infallible, and your personal sample of "most people" is far too small to draw any meaningful conclusions . Even self interest can drive people to act ethically if their sense of self places a high value on ethical behavior;)
