Sorry, this seems like an attempt to extend the toxic physical judgement under which women live to men as well. One of the least interesting and least important measures of a man is his hair style, and submitting to the knife to "improve" how his face looks is perilously close to self abuse.
Doubtful that young people will understand, but pretty people often make sketchy partners, and people who chose partners on the basis of looks are at risk of overlooking or never even understanding the kind of traits they are looking for...if they are looking for a happy and durable relationship.
You are right, current cultural values do harm men's emotional health. We should have more access to vulnerability and support from our fellow men. Lifting looks up as a measure of a man will only harm this need.
