Sometimes I come across articles on Medium that seem put up by special interests, if you know what I mean;) The soy and corn crops are particularly concerning. With Roundup resistant seed crops, GPS land sculpting, petroleum based fertilizers and pesticides, the industrial farm industry can do environmental harm on a grand scale and leave little resources for wild populations in the process, witness the collapse of pollinator species, butterflies, song birds, on which predator species are dependent. Even if the growing world population was not dependent on this technological leveraging of a limited ecosystem we would be in trouble; the model does not seem to be sustainable and is doing harm, will be doing harm right up to the event that “de-leverages” the system.
