The question is, attractive for what? As the block chain gets longer and takes longer to perform its functions it gets slower and more expensive to use, both in energy expenditure and fees. The scarcity guarantees that it will have difficulty fulfilling its original function, as a non-state currency. That scarcity, paired with demand, makes it a constantly deflating "coin" that functions essentially as a bank account, holding an electronic commodity. To hold its value it has to hold the belief in its value, and with many competitors in the crypto field that will always be a challenge.
