There’s a principle in construction that my long ago mentor Paul impressed on me time after time, “It will never be easier”. For some reason during a project there is often the temptation to put off a task, to do some other more rewarding or easier job but…past a certain point it gets more and more difficult to do the procrastinated task, there is more in the way, more to protect, what might have taken a half hour will now cost you two hours and maybe some repair to already completed phases. This principle has to be even more salient in parenting, putting off the task of establishing habits will only make them more difficult to establish later, allowing bad habits to become set will only require much effort later to eliminate them, if that is even possible. Do it Now, it will never be easier;)
