These are not "persuasive phrases", they are manipulative phrases. I can see why a sales person would want to manipulate his customers and I imagine that a reverse psych tactic might work a couple of times on your kids, but wouldn't you rather that your kids learned to clean their rooms for the benefit of living in a clean room and not just out of reaction?
