There's no onus on Machenima at all, most Americans have no idea who they are or what they are up to, most Americans don't even know the difference between a Senator and a Representative, or who their Rep is. In a sane country (there are examples in Europe) citizens take their franchise seriously and actually can discuss political issues intelligently. Here the majority know far more about the Khardashians or the stats from their favorite football team.
