This is a classic expensive pharmaceutical response to a lifestyle disease...what's not to like if you are big Pharma, big farming, or industrial "food" production?

We subsidize corporate "farmers" to produce immense volumes of corn, which surplus is converted to high fructose corn syrup and injected into most manufactured "foods", which not only addicts children to these products but causes a far too large percentage of them to become overweight or obese. Once a body has grown to be overweight or obese, this condition is very hard to reverse and quite often is the direct cause of first chronic metabolic syndrome and pre-diabetes and then type 2 diabetes which causes heart disease, cancer, arthritis, kidney failure, stroke, blindness, and limb loss, among others.

Tax the junk food and manufactured food industries into oblivion, remove corn production subsidies, re-teach Americans to eat ACTUAL food, require at least one hour of physical exercise for school children and require cooking and nutrition classes for all kids, cut this problem at the root.

Then of course there would be plenty of Ozempic to treat the relatively rare cases of type 2 diabetes.
