This is as laughably false, as is most of the rest of this dreck. Carter froze Iranian assets at the onset of the embassy takeover and leveraged these assets to broker the release. Reagan had nothing to do with it, other than being a useful fool for the Ayatollah to take one last swipe at Carter. Carter was the unluckiest of presidents, being in office for the inevitable inflation after Nixon dropped the gold standard, and provoked (justifiably) the '73 oil crisis, also inheriting the Nixon/Ford stagflation. Still, had the rescue force not run into a literal perfect storm of breakdowns and mishaps the mission would likely have succeeded, Carter reelected, and the nation spared the incompetence and corruption of the Reagan years, for which we are still paying.
