This is SO incredibly false. In Ireland's civil conflict NOBODY was trying to destroy Ireland, to wipe its cities off the map, to depopulate and replace its native people. Further, this conflict went on for centuries, with DEEPLY rooted ethno/religious enmities and a long history of enforced control and oppression by a powerful empire on a weak conquest.

Should Russia prevail in Ukraine then a "Troubles" situtation WILL be created, with no end in sight for the asymmetrical guerilla conflict.
