This is the least excusable form of "whataboutism", and even if it were accurate it would be no more legitimate. China has NEVER ruled Taiwan, has no legitimate claim to the island, and clearly desires to conquer it, with military violence if necessary. Unlike China, Taiwan has a legitimate government and desires only that the dictatorship in Bejing leave it alone. The UN members know that ONLY military force will prevent putin from invading his neighbors, that though Europe offered him a peaceful and beneficial relationship of commerce and "cultural exchange" he could not be dissuaded from a criminal attack on a peaceful neighbor. His troops now commit daily, hourly war crimes in his attempt to subjugate the Ukrainians.

The U.S. does not have clean hands in foreign policy, but unlike Russia it has returned the conquered lands of nations that attacked it to the people of those lands. Japan is a free and democratic state, S. Korea is a free and democratic state, Germany is a free and democratic state, Iraq is self governing though they struggle to establish a multicultural democracy, Afghanistan has been retaken by a violent and extremist minority faction willing to bomb, assassinate, and murder their way to power, much to the detriment of the Afghan people.

I doubt very much that you would chose to live in any country under Russian or Chinese domination, I doubt that you would hesitate to live in Japan, Germany, S. Korea, China and Russia's goals are clear, to destroy the institutions of democratic self governance wherever possible and substitute kleptocratic autocracy in its place. You can call a rattlesnake a gopher snake but don't fool yourself, the rattlesnake can maim or kill you.
