Thoroughly deceptive claim. The U.S. goal in Iraq was to depose Saddam, turn the government over to the "majority", who happened to be the long oppressed Shia Iraqis, and get out. This was a fool's errand that Kurdish Iraqis led the Neo-Con supporters of the invasion to believe would turn out the way that U.S. and NATO defense of Kurdish populations did...a reasonably democratic Middle Easter state.

Russia's , and by that I mean putin's desire was/is nearly the opposite, to conquer Ukraine, eliminate its reasonably democratic government, to stamp out the Ukrainian nationality. and to establish a totalitarian clone government loyal to putin. This goal has now extended to a campaign to depopulate Ukrainian nationals from the land corridor to Crimea and in the ultimate ambition, to take Odessa and end all possibility of a viable Ukrainian state.
