trump hardly deserves credit for "standing up to Boulton", he appointed Boulton in the first place, and resisting war with Iran (a weird claim given trump's provocative attack on Iran General Soleimani) would have been a hugely popular policy, not the opposite. As for keeping the economy afloat, the economy handed to him was as near to full employment as any in U.S. history and the policies during his admin. did not significantly change the direction of any metric. for example, fewer jobs were added during his first two years than were added in Obama's last two years. His trade wars with Europe and China yielded no significant benefits but did exacerbate price increases and actually decreased manufacturing jobs and performance. https://www.americanmanufacturing.org/blog/what-did-donald-trump-accomplish-for-american-manufacturing/ His abject failure to deal with Covid tanked the U.S. economy far worse than nations like Australia, Singapore, S. Korea who had competent governmental responses to the pandemic and orders of magnitude lower death rates.
