Very true, but it goes farther than that. Women bear children and so create the future for the human race. They have social value just by existing. Men are only necessary for a moment in this creation, and most can be entirely unnecessary. Masculine identities are thus totally social constructs, and low status men are reminded daily just how replaceable they are, which accounts for at least some of their insecurity and anger.

How would my life be affected if all women disappeared for 24 hours? The affect would be barely noticeable. Given that a majority of my friends are women, a longer disappearance would definitely be a problem;)
