The visible light from the sun warms up the physical features of the earth, which then radiate INFRARED waves back towards space. CO2 is LESS reflective of the visual light than it is of the infrared spectrum waves, causing a net gain in heat. In addition, clouds may indeed provide some increase in albedo but water vapor itself is a potent green house gas.
