While it's tempting to attribute this reality to innate or socio-biological causes I think that the strongest influences are cultural, and have been exacerbated by the flood of media and dramatic images and stories. The funny aspect of this obvious preference is that most differences in height are from the waist down...from the waist up I'm about the same height as Charles Barkley, from the waist down I'm closer to Michael J. Fox;)
