While we need no pure carbs they are part of very nutritious foods. We never need to eat sugar or bread or rice or potatoes; in many ways eating vegetables and fruits and seeds and nuts is health promoting, and they all have carbs. Silly to try to refine those carbs out, given that these foods promote health it seems silly to deprive yourself of them...just my opinion.
