Yeah, I only caught that your story was from '82 after I had read it;) I did a paddle boat run of Westwater around then on the Colorado, didn't quite paste it on the rock wall below the giant wave in Skull. The boat captain was a little gal who weighed about 110, lost her overboard the next rapid down and she rode under the boat for about 30 seconds...good clean fun, as long as everyone comes through.

An old friend's dad was partners with Ansel Adams and ran wooden dories down the Grand in the '60s...Wade said that the longest 30 seconds of his life was watching his dad flip in Lava and disappear for a very long time. Still hoping to hook a ride on a private trip there someday;)
